

Established during the reign of Louis XVI to import merino sheep from Spain, the Bergerie farm and museum in the Yvelines consists of a full-size working farm in which over 1000 lambs are born each year. The museum itself traces the history of the famous breed, now widespread throughout the world. A pleasant, distracting and enriching cultural experience for all at any time of year. On your walks through the farm, you can also see dairy and beef cattle, a number of carthorses, pigs and other animals, as well as joining in many other activities varying with the time of year and adding pleasure to day trip from Paris. Farm open to the public afternoons on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, public holidays and during the Paris region’s school holidays.
